CP-25: A Brief Multi‑Domain Assessment of Regulatory Stability

Version: 1.0 (Working Paper)
Date: May 15, 2026

Estimated completion time: 5–7 minutes

Overview

The CP-25 is a 25‑item self‑assessment designed to measure regulatory stability across five interconnected domains:

  • Physiological
  • Cognitive
  • Behavioral
  • Relational
  • Environmental

Regulatory stability refers to the capacity of an individual to maintain adaptive functioning under stress, uncertainty, or changing conditions — to recover from disruption, sustain attention, align action with intention, preserve trust, and navigate environmental demands without fragmentation.

The CP-25 is not a diagnostic tool. It is a research‑grade self‑assessment intended for:

  • Personal insight
  • Organizational development
  • Resilience screening
  • Longitudinal tracking
  • Intervention evaluation

The CP-25 is currently an emerging instrument and should not yet be interpreted against population norms. Formal validation and norming will follow as data accumulate.

You can take the CP-25 now. The full questionnaire and self-scoring instructions are below. No email or registration required.

Longitudinal Tracking Toolkit (Excel) – For those who wish to track regulatory stability over time, ACI offers a free Excel‑based toolkit and an online assessment tool. The toolkit includes a 25‑item assessment with auto‑calculating total score, a weekly tracker to record progress, and an interpretation guide. Download it to monitor your coherence across weeks or months.

What the CP-25 Measures (Quick Visual Summary)

DomainCore Capacity
PhysiologicalRecovery & energy regulation
CognitiveAttention & mental clarity
BehavioralFollow‑through & impulse regulation
RelationalTrust & conflict navigation
EnvironmentalContext stability & sensory load

Each domain produces a score from 0–100. A composite coherence score (average of all five domains) is also reported.

E4I am not overwhelmed by messages, notifications, or demands.__
E5My daily surroundings do not drain my energy.__

Total Environmental Score (sum of E1–E5): __

Scoring Instructions

Step 1: Domain Scores (0–100)

For each domain, use the formula:

Domain Score = ((Your Total Score for that Domain / 5) - 1) × 25

Example (Physiological, total = 20):
(20 ÷ 5) = 4 → (4 – 1) = 3 → 3 × 25 = 75

Your Scores:

DomainTotal (sum of 5 items)Divide by 5Subtract 1Multiply by 25Final Score (0–100)
Physiological__÷ 5 = __– 1 = __× 25 =__
Cognitive__÷ 5 = __– 1 = __× 25 =__
Behavioral__÷ 5 = __– 1 = __× 25 =__
Relational__÷ 5 = __– 1 = __× 25 =__
Environmental__÷ 5 = __– 1 = __× 25 =__

Step 2: Composite Coherence Score (0–100)

Add your five domain scores, then divide by 5.

Composite Score = (Physiological + Cognitive + Behavioral + Relational + Environmental) ÷ 5

Your Composite Score: __

Scoring Interpretation (Preliminary)

Score RangeLabelDescription
80–100Robust CoherenceStrong regulatory stability across domains.
60–79Emerging CoherenceGenerally stable with some variability.
40–59Moderate FragmentationNoticeable instability in one or more domains.
0–39Significant FragmentationHigh instability; consider targeted support.

These ranges are provisional and will be refined as norming data accumulate. They are intended for educational and organizational development purposes, not clinical diagnosis.

What to Do with Your Results

If You ScoredYou Might Consider
80–100Maintain current practices. Share your strategies with others.
60–79Identify your lowest domain(s). Experiment with targeted practices.
40–59Focus on one domain at a time. Seek support if needed.
0–39Consider speaking with a coach, therapist, or trusted advisor.

The CP-25 is a snapshot, not a verdict. Scores can change with intentional practice, environmental changes, and social support.

Research and Organizational Use

Researchers and organizations may use the CP-25 under the following terms:

AllowedNot Allowed
Administering the CP-25 for research or internal assessmentUsing the CP-25 for clinical diagnosis

Limitations

The CP-25 is an emerging instrument. Users should be aware of the following limitations:

  • Validation studies are ongoing
  • Norming data are not yet available
  • The instrument is self‑report only (observer and EMA versions are in development)
  • The CP-25 is not a substitute for medical or psychological evaluation
  • Scores may fluctuate; single administrations should be interpreted cautiously

ACI is committed to transparent communication about the instrument’s development status.

Interactive Tool (Coming Soon)
